A sunlit reef: a rock arch and tall stone pillars rising out of coral and kelp
Wildware Studios games Discord

Nothing down here is what it looks like.

Octopuses hide as anything on the reef. Divers hunt them. Online, for up to 32 players.

There's an octopus in this picture.

These are real shots from the game. Find it, before it finds lunch.

It's not a costume. It's a skin.

Hold your brush over the reef and let go. Your skin copies what was under it, spreading across you in little dots, the way a real octopus changes.

Then keep still. Or don't. The colours stay with you when you move.

An octopus in its own purple colours, plain to see on the reef The same octopus and the same view, its skin now matching the reef around it

Pick a plant. Become it.

One octopus, with nothing but its own bones, its own skin and its suckers tucked away. There's a shape for everything that grows down here.

An octopus in its own colours among sea anemones The octopus with its arms held up, coloured like the anemones around it
Arms up, tips swaying in the same current as the real ones.
A sandy lane through a sunlit reef, with coral, kelp and little fish on both sides

The Reef

Sunlight, coral and a lot of places to be a rock.

Tall grey rocks and kelp in a sheltered cove, with a purple fan coral in front

The Cove

Small, tight and close. Everyone is nearer than they look.

A pitch dark cave with a field of glowing pink mushrooms, and blue plants beside old bones behind it

The Hollow

A cave with no sun at all. Only what glows, and what your torch finds.

Bring a torch.

There's no sun in The Hollow. Move your light across the cave, and take your time.

A dark cave with a few glowing plants and very little else to see The same cave lit up, full of rock, plants and things living in them

Pick a side.

The Smart Fellas

Octopuses. Stealth and cunning.

  • Copy the reef and hold a pose to blend in.
  • Eat crabs, clams and shrimp to keep your energy up. Hungry octopuses make noise.
  • Spotted? Squirt ink in their face and dash away.
  • Feeling bold? Grab on to a diver's back. They'll never know.

The Fart Smellas

Divers. Strength and speed.

  • Search in first person. Trust your eyes.
  • Listen for hungry octopuses.
  • Watch your friends' backs. Really watch them.
  • Clear the water before the clock runs out.

What's in the bag

  • A first-person view along a spear gun, aimed across a sunlit reef

    Spear gun

One spear, one shot. Miss and it stays in the reef until you pull it out. The lobby picks spear or net.

  • A first-person view of a net gun, with the net flying open towards the reef

    Net

Wraps an octopus up where it was caught, where anyone can find it.

  • A diver with a torch beam cutting across a dark cave

    Torch

The only way to see far in the dark. Also the way everyone sees you.

  • A small motion sensor stuck on top of a brain coral

    Motion sensor

Stick it on the reef and it tells every diver when something moves past.

  • A diver from behind, with a netted octopus hanging in a bag on the belt

    A belt

Room for one octopus. Bag it, carry it off, and drop it somewhere nobody will look.

  • A purple octopus on the sand, next to a teammate wrapped in a net

    Friends with arms

A netted octopus can be set free by a teammate brave enough to swim over. Everyone can see the net.

The locals.

They were here first. Some of them are hungry.
